Pastor Michael McCormack was born in New York City to Hibbert and Laura McCormack, natives of Jamaica. While in New York, Pastor McCormack attended Oneness Pentecostal Tabernacle under the pastorate of Lincoln A. Graham, Sr. Pastor McCormack was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ at age 8 and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at age 9.
In 1988, the McCormacks moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where they attended Faith Tabernacle under the pastorate of G. Oliver Barnes. Pastor McCormack received his call to the ministry that same year. While at Faith Tabernacle, Pastor McCormack held various positions in the church, including: Usher, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Asst. Youth President and Outreach Director.
In 1992, Pastor McCormack moved to Houston, Texas to attend Texas Bible College, a seminary endorsed by the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI). While at TBC, Pastor McCormack attended Life Tabernacle where he held various positions, including the following: Choir Member, member of a Men's Chorale, Sunday School Teacher, Outreach Director, and overall Minister.
At the beginning of his third and final year of seminary, Pastor McCormack met and later fell in love with Sis. Sybil Bates, a native of California. For a brief period in 1995, following graduation from TBC, Pastor McCormack held the position of Asst. Pastor at an Apostolic church in Marietta, Georgia. Later that year, however, Pastor McCormack returned to Houston to ask Sis. Sybil to marry him. Pastor McCormack and the former Sis. Sybil Bates were married the following year.
At the end of 1997, following Sis. McCormack's graduation from law school, the couple moved to the Atlanta area. In 1998, Pastor McCormack received a vision from the Lord during which God spoke the following words to him: "If you start the church, I will bless it." In December of that year, Pastor McCormack -- accompanied by seven other hungry souls -- held his first church service at a facility located in a park in Lilburn, Georgia. (For more information about the church's progression and its current facility in Stone Mountain, Georgia, be sure to visit our "Church History" page.)
Pastor and Sis. McCormack are now the very happy parents of two small children, their daughter, Erin and their son, Ian. Pastor McCormack is known to be a fiery and inspiring preacher and teacher of the Gospel. The pastor enjoys spending time with his family, delving deeply into Bible truths, listening to Gospel music, and traveling. Our Pastor has a vision of spiritual and numerical growth for Total Life and lives by the church motto: "We are ministering truth for today's times to the body, soul and spirit."
